Valerie Baker Memorial Award
The Valerie Baker Memorial Award recognises excellence in professional practice in the General Insurance intermediary sector including both broking and underwriting agencies. It is awarded nationally once every year and is sponsored by Gold Seal, the Steadfast Group and AIMS.
2015 winner Julie Pernecker, Associate Director, All Parks Insurance said of her experience "Leading up to my trip to London I was a bag of mixed emotions. Once exposed to the London Market the fears I had were soon replaced with excitement and thoughts af all the opportunities the London Market has to offer. I had been introduced to a whole new world and level of insurance. After having the opportunity to sit 'on the box' with a few syndicates my mind was working overtime on the great opportunities this could mean for our business. The experience of all the people I was put in contact with thanks to the Valerie Baker Award has offered me a wealth of knowledge and opportunities. I cannot wait to see where this takes me in the future".
The Award memorialises the achievements Valerie made during her lifetime towards the professionalism of the Insurance Broking and Underwriting Agency industries and continues her work in encouraging high potential individuals.
The prize is based in London to acknowledge and underline the importance of London Market knowledge to Australian intermediaries.
