1 Professional Development Hour

This module supports the new General Insurance Code of Practice requirements to take extra care with retail insurance product customers who experience vulnerability.

The training will help staff to:

  • Understand if customers may be vulnerable
  • Recognise how best, and to what extent, vulnerable customers can be supported
  • Take account of vulnerable customers’ particular needs or vulnerability
  • Engage with vulnerable customers with sensitivity, dignity, respect and compassion

Due to COVID-19 the implementation of the new General Insurance Code of Practice has been delayed by six months until July 2021. However the Insurance Council of Australia has fast tracked the Vulnerable Customers and Financial Hardship parts of the Code to July 2020 or earlier.

This module includes access to the Vulnerable Customers and Financial Hardship components of Gold Seal’s new Code training.

Suitable for Insurers, Underwriting Agencies and those acting under binding agreement. Highly recommended for Insurance Brokers to understand the Code obligations even if they are not acting under a binder so they can assist and advise their clients accordingly.
